This season there is a tendency for discreet tones, and grey stands out... and has become “the new black”. Why? It is easy to match with blouses and tops of different colors... can be worn elegantly in the morning as well as or a nighttime event, and, above and beyond, it creates the illusion that we have lost weight. Could you ask for more?

I personally love grey! I love the different shades, and, besides, I consider it flattering. It works like a backdrop to let us shine every minute of the day... and, like an old friend, is always present when in need and when not, it disappears without fuss.

Just like dressing well, grey is an adventure, it is a turning point in fashion... The three golden rules in fashion are balance, simplicity and purity... and grey creates a serene elegance. It is perfect for sportswear... and especially for pantsuits or jackets and slacks.

The fit can delineate the silhouette... the texture is soft and luxurious... and the design always has in mind to enhance today’s woman... who is active, full of energy and needs easy-to-wear designs, but not boring.

The most famous designers on both sides of the Atlantic have fallen in love with grey, and use it with great gusto. There are classical styles, other younger looking, but both play with our emotions... and why not? Today’s woman is bold... confident... open to new trends and styles.

Personally, I like a more intense grey, and you can always add a flower in a bright color or a satin blouse in a tone such as ruby red or emerald green. And thinking about it, I want to give you more ideas and have chosen several designs by the most famous creators.

For example, BOUCHRA JARRAR presented models in small black and white checkers creating the illusion of grey, and wrapped a huge grey checkered stole around the shoulders and neck. Fitted, it looks very flirtatious. CHRISTIAN DIOR showed pantsuits with loose-fitting charcoal pants, which seem very comfortable, and jackets inspired by those that the founder launched during the era of the New Look. Very chic!

CAROLINA HERRERA also chose this look which outlines the curves. The fabric, instead of sporting a hounds-tooth design, is marbled with white threads.

GIORGIO ARMANI leaned towards shorter pants in light grey to wear with open-front jackets with a certain Russian influence. Ice blue blouses are worn under.

On the other hand, MISSONI imposes once again a look that reminds us of the vagabond-style suits of two decades ago. Using one of the houses beautiful textiles, the pantsuits are ample and comfortable, but very sensual, and worn with black blouses tied to one side under the jackets.

And as if all this wasn’t enough, DONNA KARAN created two spectacular pieces, the top being asymmetrical and created in fine silk and a small turtle-neck collar and cuffs in fur. Worn with wide-legged pants, it is the perfect choice for dressier occasions.
