The fifth day of the Paris Fashion Week presented the inspiration of

designers Akris, Celine, Hermes and John Galliano in one of most

important circuits of fashion in Monaco. Here, this group of talented

designers showed off their collections of ultra sporty yet extremely simple

clothing, starting with Akris.

With barren silhouettes and a touch of Yves Saint Laurent, designer Celine

faces the upcoming summer season, where her innovation guarantees a

fresh wardrobe. Even though her designs are less fluid than what was

proposed in the Crucero collection, we expect to see many of her signature

looks in the upcoming season including, Saharan oversized tops as well as

wide, straight trousers and skirts.

Hermes, following the departure of Gautier, presented a minimalism style

incorporating Eastern and North African patterns. Some of the styles seen

include Mao collars, peasant style skirts, caftans, harem pants, bermuda

shorts and blazers. Orange, earthy tones for day and purple shades for

night, emphasize sophistication.

John Galliano took his inspiration from film heroines, ranging from silent

film star, Mary Pickford to the famous, Mary Poppins. Until recently, had its

support in creative terms. Galliano’s asymmetrical designs still encompass

organza, tulle and georgette silk dresses, which is so characteristic of his

work.

The 60’s are the leading role of the spring but the 80’s also have their own

niche. Balmain and Stella McCartney are some of the collections that will

give way to exaggerated shoulders, fluorescent colors and boyfriend style

clothing. They may not be exceptionally flattering, but that’s how fashion is.

upcoming season, it is a mandatory garment to achieve the perfect party
