The highly prized longest fiber comes from the neck and the flank of the sheep. The wool grader measures the quality of the fiber by diameter width (which determines the Super count) as well as measuring fiber length, strength, color, and crimp.

Healthy, happy sheep produce a strong fiber with excellent crimp and tensile strength.

These select worsted wool fibers are then top dyed before being spun into luxury yarn.
